Vietnamese Maths Tutor Abused Five Children as Young as Three

An elderly man used his position as a trusted maths tutor and respected elder of Sydney’s Vietnamese community to abuse children as young as three.
Quy Huy Hoang, 68, was sentenced to spend at least 18 years behind bars in Sydney District Court today.

He committed sexual crimes against five young children to whom he gave private lessons between 2007 and 2014. “In my view, the offender is a sexual predator who took advantage of his high position of trust as a teacher and elder of the Vietnamese community, and abused that trust to sexually abuse very young children, Judge Kate Traill ” the judge who gave the judgement said.
“These children will carry the injuries with them for life.”
